Lesson 14: Facing Failure and Family Trouble

1.  Is the Lord patient with us when we fail?  Psalm 103:14.

Answer: Yes. He knows our , and He realizes that we are but .

Note: This verse tells us that the Lord recognizes our failures.  But through His strength we can be overcomers; but without Him we can do nothing significant in the spiritual realm!

2.  Should we be anxious that we will not “make it” to heaven if we trust in Jesus?  Philippians 1:6.

Answer: .

Jesus started the work in your heart, and He will finish it as long as we surrender to Him on a daily and even moment by moment basis!

3.  If we believe in the Lord and believe in what His prophets said, what will be the result for us?  2 Chronicles 20:20.

Answer: We shall .

4.  If we break the Lord’s commandments and forsake Him, what will be the result?  2 Chronicles 24:20.

Answer: We will not be able to , and if we continue in that state, the Lord will be forced to us.

The solution is simple!  Repent of sin, ask God for a new heart empowered by His Holy Spirit, and accept the salvation freely provided already through the cross!

5.  What does the Lord wish above all things for us?  3 John 2.

Answer: That we and be in .

The Lord is on our side!  He is not against us, but rather wants us to prosper and be in good health: mentally, physically, and spiritually!

6.  If you and your family face serious trouble, what does the Lord promise us?  Acts 16:31.

Answer: That if we in the Lord Jesus Christ, we shall be , and our also!

Trust in the Lord!  The Lord knows what your needs are.  He can save your whole household too!  Put everything into His hands. Be anxious for nothing!  Things will work out with God in His time and in His way, and it will all work for your good!  Don’t forget Romans 8:28!

7.  What promise does the Lord give to those who “honor” their “father and mother”?   See Exodus 20:12.

Answer: Their days will be on the .

8.  What should we have for one another?  1 Peter 3:8.

Answer: .

9.  What else does the above verse tell us to do?

Answer: Be and to others, and not render for .

Let’s quit “railing” (yelling) at one another and let’s follow on to know the Lord!  The best days are ahead!

Now a little break from the ordinary format.  It would be good for husbands and wives to read the following two verses of Scripture together at this time.  They have much to say about the family and will do much to save many a marriage headed for divorce!  These verses are:

1 Peter 3:1-7 and Ephesians 5:21 to 6:4

10. What does love do?  Proverbs 10:12.

Answer: It all sins.

There is nothing anyone has ever done to us that is worse than what we did to Jesus!  It was our sins that nailed Him to the cross!  We were responsible for His being tortured, beat, spit upon and bruised!  If He lovingly forgives us, can we not forgive others no matter what they have done to us?  Forgiveness in the heart blesses us more than the person that we forgive!   Remember acid only hurts the container it is in, and hate in the heart only damages us!

11.  How should we “walk” within our house?  Psalm 101:2.

Answer: In a way.

The Lord watches how we are at home, not only how we are in church or in public!  Real Christianity is a full time job!  Hypocrisy is one of the things that the Lord hates the most!  Ask Him to make you a REAL Christian today, tomorrow, and forever!  He will do it, but we must turn our hearts over to Him for renewal and repair!  The Great Physician wants to do heart surgery on you!  Have you signed the consent papers yet?

12. What wonderful decision did Joshua come to?  Joshua 24:15.

Answer: But as for me and my , we will the Lord!

Have you come to that decision yet?  If not, why not?  This series of lessons is designed to help you fall in love with Jesus more deeply, and to reveal the wonderful love the God of heaven has for you.  There is one more lesson in this series, and it is a very important one.  May God richly bless you!
