Lesson 9: He Loves Us Even in Our Rebellion |
![]() |
1. If we are “willing and obedient,” what shall we eat
of?
Isaiah 1:19.
Answer: The of the . Note: The big “if” here is if we are obedient! |
2. What will happen if we refuse to obey God and rebel against Him? Isaiah 1:20.
Answer: We shall be with the .
![]()
The loving Lord cannot bless us if we fail to listen to His counsel and
advice!
He knows what's best for us, and He loves us more than we love ourselves! But
we must not rebel against Him and fight against Him!
3. Now that we know better, what should we not fashion ourselves after?
1 Peter 1:14.
Answer: The former of our .
![]()
We know better than to continue in the former lusts that enslaved us in our
ignorance!
We can have deliverance through Jesus and rise to a higher sphere of living
through His indwelling Spirit!
4. What helped even our Lord Jesus learn obedience?
Hebrews 5:8.
Answer: The things that He .
![]()
In our pain and suffering we can learn to obey God rather than become bitter
and angry.
This is what the Lord of Glory did! We can be like Him!
5. What is rebellion against God like?
1 Samuel 15:23.
Answer: It is like the sin of .
6. And what is stubbornness like?
Same verse.
Answer: The sins of and .
![]()
There are more people in the world than we realize that are practicing
witchcraft!
All those who rebel against God and are stubborn in their willingness to listen
to Him are worshipping the idol
called self, and they are for all practical purposes practicing witchcraft which
is really another form of self worship!
7. To whom should we “submit” ourselves?
James 4:7.
Answer: .
8. What will happen to the devil’s power in our life if we “resist” him through
the power of the Holy Spirit and our own will?
Same verse as above.
Answer: He will from us!
![]()
We are not to court the devil by agreeing to his temptations and loving the base
and perverted things of this world!
We can only drive away this type of life by resisting the devil and all that he
stands for!
We must realize the power of the human will!
9. Who should wives also submit themselves to?
Ephesians 5:22-24.
Answer: Their own .
![]()
This must be clarified. Wives need not submit to their husbands if their
husbands wish them to sin against God or violate their consciences!
This verse also says that the husband is to LOVE his wife as Christ loved the church
and gave Himself for it!
Husbands who demand submission must be willing to love their wives to such an extent
that they would die for their spouse.
Brutish, abusive and domineering husbands resemble the devil more than they resemble
Christ the loving husband of the church -- His bride!
Men are to be the head of the house, but not the BLOCKHEAD!
Wives should lovingly recognize the husband as the head of the house and not fight
God’s divine order.
The husband should love and cherish his wife. Such a relationship between
husband and wife fulfills the divine purposes of God and makes life more enjoyable
for both husband and wife.
10. What should we willingly give to those who have rule over us?
Hebrews 13:17.
Answer: .
![]()
How much sorrow and heartache would be avoided in this world if children
obeyed their parents, if people obeyed the law of God, if people obeyed the
righteous laws of the land and the laws of human dignity!
This verse says that to fight against those who have authority over us, and make
their rulership hard is UNPROFITABLE for US!
11. How does God react to the PROUD?
1 Peter 5:5-6.
Answer: He
them.
12. Who does the Lord exalt in “due time”?
Same verse.
Answer: The .
![]()
Humbleness and humility are key graces for success in this life and in the world
to come.
The proud and selfish spirit cannot exist in the presence of a loving and giving
God!
Think of how Jesus humbled Himself for you and me, and pride and selfishness will
vanish away!
13. When Paul was fighting against the Lord’s church, before he was converted
on the road to Damascus, what did Jesus say to him when He spoke to him from heaven
in vision?
Acts 9:5.
Answer: It is for thee to against the pricks.
![]()
Paul was fighting against the pricks his conscience was giving him ever since
Stephen was stoned and he held the coats of those who killed him!
It is always foolish to fight against our own conscience! If we are impressed
to make things right between others and yourself or between the Lord and yourself
then by all means DO IT!
It is indeed hard to kick against the pricks of our God-given conscience!
14. How long has the Lord known us?
Jeremiah 1:5.
Answer: Even before we were in our mother’s womb!
![]()
Surely the Lord who formed us in the womb and knew us from then knows what is best
for us!
Should we not fully trust Him with our lives and hearts? Of course we
should!
15. If we have something that we need to do, should we be afraid to do it, afraid
of the faces of the ones we need to deal with?
Jeremiah 1:7-8.
Answer: .
![]()
Fear the frown of God rather than the face of any man, woman, or child in this
world!
16. As the time for the Lord’s return quickly approaches, what should we not forsake
to do?
Hebrews 10:25.
Answer: We should not forsake together with other believers!
