This chapter is about the glorious second coming of Jesus Christ!

1. What will everyone in heaven be shouting when Babylon the Great falls, just before the Savior returns?  See verse 1.

2. Why are they saying, "true and righteous are His judgments”?  See verse 2.

Answer: Because He the great who had the earth.

3. What did the 24 elders and the four beasts do?  See verses 3-4.

We today are to rejoice, and to say "Hallelujah" to God!  He has redeemed us and He will save us!

4. What are we commanded to do?  See verse 5.

The Bible says that the Lord ‘inhabits the praises of His people’!  See Psalm 22:3.

5. Why are all praising God at this time?  See verse 6.

Answer: Because at this time the God begins to reign!

Friends, the Lord is soon to come, and when He comes He will begin His never ending reign!  Ultimately, Satan and sin will be forever banished from the people of God!

6. What great supper will the faithful be invited to?  See verse 7.

Answer: The supper of the .

Notice that one must be ‘ready’ to attend this supper!  There is a special garment that must be worn to be at this supper!  See Matthew 22:10-14.   The "wedding garment” mentioned in Matthew chapter 22 stands for the righteousness of Christ that must cover our ‘filthy rags.’  See Isaiah 64:6.   In actuality, the Lord gives us two robes!  The first is His robe of imputed righteousness, that is a robe that covers our sinful life with His perfect life.  The second robe is the imparted robe of righteousness.  This robe is made by combining our will with His omnipotent power!  The victorious ones "make themselves ready” for heaven by choosing to allow the Lord to work in them to will and to do of His good pleasure!

7.  What is the “fine linen, clean and white" that the church triumphant will be wearing at this great marriage supper?  See verse 8.

This robe is made, as we said, by the Holy Spirit combining Christ’s imparted righteousness with man’s will!  See Matthew 6:33.

8. What did the angel do when John fell down to worship him?  Verse 10.

Answer: The angel said, " it "!

We are not to bow down to anyone but God!  The people who bow down before statues, images, popes and cardinals have not heeded what the angel said about worshipping God alone!  See also Matthew 4:8-9.

9.  What is the “testimony of Jesus”?  See verse 10 again.

The remnant church has in it the Spirit of Prophecy according to Revelation 12:17. This, along with keeping the commandments of God, are very important identifying marks of the true church. The Seventh-day Adventist Church has been given this unique gift through the writings and visions of Mrs. Ellen G. White!  We are not to despise this gift, but rather test it by the word of God! See 1 Thessalonians 5:20-21.   This gift will be in the church until the end of time!  See Ephesians 4:11-13.

10.  What does Jesus do “in righteousness"?  See verse 11.

Answer: He doth and make .

Jesus will fight the Battle of Armageddon for us!  He makes “war” against those who oppose His law and persecute His people!

11.  What is He clothed with, and what is His name?  See verses 12-13.

His garments are royal and kingly, but they have been ‘dipped in blood!’  He has shed His blood for us!  That blood stained garment will symbolize retribution and strike terror in the hearts of those who rejected Him, but for those who have accepted Him as Lord, that blood stained garment will be salvation and honor. Notice that He is also called ‘The Word of God.’  He was the mighty “Logos” -- the Word.  “The Word became flesh and dwelt among us.”  John 1:1-3 & 14.

12.  Who follows Jesus when He comes?  See verse 14.

Answer: The of heaven.

This army of angels is the army that will take the field against the wicked in the Battle of Armageddon.  It will not be the armies of Russia and Israel as is often taught today!  It will be the armies of heaven battling against the whole world that has supported the beast, and has enforced his mark!

13.  What comes out of the Lord Jesus’ mouth, and what does this weapon do?  See verse 15.

This sword is His word!  See Ephesians 6:17.   The Word of God will fight against the error and false doctrines of the beast that the whole world follows.

14.  What "name” does the Lord have written on His clothing and on His "thigh"?  See verse 16.

What a title!  If all the kings who have ever reigned were gathered in a room, and the Word walked in, they must all bow! For He is the KING OF KINGS and the LORD OF LORDS!  Praise His name!

15.  Who does the angel call together for the "supper of the Great God"?  See verses 17-18.

These birds will pick at the flesh of those who have rejected God and the great salvation He has offered them.  Instead of sitting rejoicing at the ‘marriage supper of the Lamb,’ they will BE THE SUPPER for the birds who will enjoy the ‘supper of the Great God’!  Serving Satan is surely ‘for the birds!’

16.  Who was gathered together against Jesus and the armies of heaven to fight this first phase of the Battle of Armageddon?  See verse 19.

17.  What happens to the beast, and the false prophet, and those that follow them when Jesus returns?  verse 20.

This ‘Lake of Fire,’ as we will see in our next session, will be after the 1000 year Millennium.  The Roman Church and apostate Protestantism with all her satanic miracles, and those who were duped by them, will be thrown into the Lake of Fire!  How sad that they believed a lie and were deceived by the ‘miracles’ they saw, rather than follow the plain Word of God!

Bonus Study On The Remnant Church

1.  Jesus said that “few” would find their way to eternal life.  The great majority would be deceived and be on the wrong road! See Matthew 7:14 & Revelation 12:9.

2.  Jesus Christ is the foundation of the true church.  His name alone can save!  See 1 Corinthians 3:11 & John 14:6.

3.  Jesus used a symbol of a woman to represent His true church in Revelation 12:1.  He also used a fallen woman -- a “great harlot” to represent the false or counterfeit church in Revelation 17:3-5.

4.  The true church (the pure woman) would have to flee persecution for 1260 days (years in prophecy -- Ezek. 4:6). This would be because the false church (the harlot) would rule supreme for this time period.  The Roman Papacy was established in 538 A.D., and ruled supreme until 1798 when Napoleon’s general Berthier took the pope prisoner and abolished the papacy!  Since then it has been healed from this wound, and is now more popular than ever as the prophecy indicated!  See Revelation 12:6 & 13:3-5.

5.  The “earth” would help the pure woman (the true church) during this time of persecution.  In the late 1700s, God raised up the United States as a place for His people to have religious freedom!  Thus the true church would come out of hiding after the 1260 years in a part of the earth prepared to nurture her and protect her from religious tyranny!  Many Bible students believe that this “wilderness” place refers to the United States of America in its early stages!  See Revelation 12:15-16.

6.  Paul warned about a “falling away” before the Lord’s return. See 2 Thessalonians 2:3.

7.  The true church is called the “remnant,” and one of its chief identifying marks is that it “keeps the commandments of God.” This means all of Gods commandments, not just nine of them.  For to break one of the Ten Commandments is to break them all!  See Revelation 12:17 & James 2:10-12.

8.  The true church also warns the world about the “mark of the
beast.”  See Revelation 14:9-11.

9.  The true remnant church also tells the world to worship the Creator.  This means they must tell the world about the seventh-day Sabbath, for it is the memorial God gave of His Creatorship!  See Revelation 14:6-7 & Exodus 20:8-11.

10.  The remnant church has in it the “testimony of Jesus,” which is the “spirit of prophecy.”  In other words, it would have in it someone with the prophetic gift!  See Revelation 12:17, 19:10 & 22:8-9.

11.  The remnant church mentioned in the book of Revelation tells the world to give “glory” to God.  One of the most important ways we give glory to God is by what we eat and drink, and how we take care of our bodies.  So the true remnant church will have a health message!  See Revelation 14:7 & 1 Corinthians 10:31.

12.  The remnant church also teaches that the dead “rest” from their labors, in other words, they are asleep!  See Revelation 14:13, Psalm 119:17, Ezekiel 4:6, and John, chapter 11.

13.  The most important thing of all the true remnant church will teach is the “everlasting gospel!”  No one can be saved without the blood of Jesus applied to his or her sins!  Revelation 14:6.

14.  The Seventh-day Adventist Church rose in America after 1798.  It preaches the everlasting gospel to the world.  It includes God’s instructions about diet and health.  It teaches that the dead rest from their labors until the resurrection which takes place when Jesus returns.  It teaches the world to obey all of God’s commandments, including the fourth one concerning the seventh-day Sabbath!  It has been given the “spirit of prophecy” through the writings of E. G. White and others.  The Seventh-day Adventist Church today is warning the world about the beast and its mark!  Thus, the Seventh-day Adventist Church fits all the identifying marks of God’s remnant church in these last days of earth’s history!
