Two Important Questions to Ask
To find out if a person understands the gospel, you would ask them:
“In your opinion, how does a person get saved?”
Any answer besides “by receiving Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Savior,” or
something to that effect indicates that the
person does not understand the gospel, and tat you need to present it to him or
her.
Use your booklet.
The second question you use after you have presented the gospel. This helps
you know if the person understood the gospel
presentation or not, and whether he or she has assurance.
“If you were to die right now, would you know for certain that you would have
eternal life?”
If they answer, “yes,” then you can assume that they understood your gospel
presentation.
If they answer “no,” then go over 1 John 5:9-12 with them.
