Why Give Our Testimony?
1. “Our confession of His faithfulness is heaven’s chosen agency for revealing Christ to the world.
We are to acknowledge His grace as made known through the holy men of old; but that which will be most effective is the
testimony OF OUR OWN EXPERIENCE. We are witnesses for God as we reveal in ourselves the working of
a power that is divine. Every individual has a life distinct from all others, and an experience differing essentially from
theirs. GOD DESIRES that precious acknowledgments to the praise of the glory of His grace, when supported by a
Christ-like life, have an IRRESISTIBLE POWER THAT WORKS TO THE SALVATION OF
SOULS” (Desire of Ages, p.347, emphasis supplied).
2. “Thousands can be reached in the most simple and humble way. The most intellectual, those who are looked
upon as the world’s most gifted men and women, are often refreshed by the simple words of one who loves God, and
who can speak of that love as naturally as the worldling speaks of the things that interest him
deeply ... Honest expression of a son or daughter of God, spoken in natural simplicity, has power to
UNBOLT THE DOOR TO HEARTS THAT HAVE BEEN LONG CLOSED AGAINST CHRIST AND HIS
LOVE” (Christ's Object Lessons, p. 232, emphasis supplied).
